About FOGs

Who Are We

FOGs was founded in Queensland in 2015, when 4 mates went to watch the Socceroos take on Korea in an Asian Cup  match at Suncorp Stadium, over a few beers they realised they had 10 daughters between them and no sons!  Something had to be done! A larger committee was formed and the rest is history…

We’re a nonprofit organisation made up of a group of fathers of only girls. We are focused on creating a network of like minded fathers, who share experiences and learnings as we navigate a life with daughters.

We come together annually over lunch with the aim of raising money for local organisations that support girls in a positive and encouraging manner – something we all want for our daughters.

Fathers of Girls Ltd is Company Limited by Guarantee operating as a non-for-profit organisation in Australia. We are not an Australian Charities and Non-for-profits Commission (ACNC) registered charity but have a fundraising license that supports our mission to raise fund for charity partners.

FOGs Annual Luncheon

Annually the FOGs get together at a CBD venue for a long lunch.  The opportunity for you is networking, hearing from inspirational speakers and sharing experiences with other blokes in a similar boat to you – we all learn from each other.  During the event there are also opportunities to contribute to fund raising activities that go towards a local organisation that supports the needs of girls in our community.

Other Events &
Longer Term

The FOGs committee arrange additional events throughout the year where members and their daughters get together to share experiences, raise money and bond as a community.

Events include an annual “Give for a Goal” charity netball day at Downey Park in conjunction with Netball Queensland, where father’s and daughter’s come along, shoot goals, learn tips and techniques from professional netball players and raise money for charity through sponsorship.

In 2021 we organised our first ever annual rail trail ride. A great day out on the bikes with our girls.

Longer term FOGs aim to provide supplementary events where members can take their daughters to coordinated activities as volunteers, teaching our girls what it means to give to others, why that’s important and how to selflessly contribute to the community in which they live.  For 2022 and beyond we’re considering an annual fathers and daughters formal dinner – April timeframe, for those members with older daughters.
